File size too big so wont play on my computer.?

I want to play a video on my computer, but i try to play it and it says the file size it too big, change it. but i don't know how to change it, has anybody got a link to a good file converter or whatever it's called, and tell me how to use it please?!!! :)File size too big so wont play on my computer.?
