Changing the size of gif files?

does anyone know how to change the size of a gif file. need to shrink the size and have no idea on how to do it.

get any half decent graphics program. Photoshop would be ideal, but GIMP (google it) is a free and really powerful FREE and legit image editing program. open the gif, resize it and save it to another file format, probably a JPEGChanging the size of gif files?

The easiest way to shrink the file size is in MS Paint to literally shrink the image. You also change the file type to something smaller like a jpeg.Changing the size of gif files?
If you have a photo editing package, then open the image then you should be able to do something called compressing the file, or saving it at a lower resolution willl change the file size, however this will also reduce the image quality.
