Changing the NTFS file size limit?

I want Windows Media Center to record tv on my Western Digital My Book and it say that its NTFS file size limit is 30min.

How can i change that any help would be great.

The additional info you provided indicates that your file system is FAT32/FAT not NTFS. You can convert to NTFS as follows:

To convert a volume to NTFS from the command prompt

Open a command prompt window (i.e. Start, Run).

In the command prompt window, type

convert drive_letter: /fs:ntfs (where Drive_Letter is C, D, etc.)

30 min?

There is no file size limit on NTFS.

NTFS file sizes are only limited by the size of the drive itself. In other words, as much space as you have left.

If you are only able to record 30 minutes, then it is because either you do not have enough space available on the drive, the DVR program is not set to compress the video or the program is setting the 30 minute limit.

What is the exact message it gives you?
  • jump drive erasing
  • div myspace
